Today's Key - Past Simple (Pasado Simple)
Usamos el Past Simple para indicar:
1) acciones o actividades que sucedieron y acabaron en el pasado,
a menudo con indicaciones de la hora, año, mes, y / otros detalles especificos:
In 1995, yesterday, at 3:00 pm, Last night, last year, at home,
in the office, for the family, etc.
El Past Simple (Pasado Simple) en el afirmativo
Be : was / were (uás / uér) - She was here at 8:00 this morning. They were open on Sunday.
Eat: ate (éit) - We ate on the porch.
Find: found (fáund) The dog found its way back home.
Go: went (uént) He went to bed early this evening.
Have: had (héed) - They had a big old house in the corner.
Know: knew ( nú) - He knew he made a mistake.
Let: let (let) - Let me show you de city
Make: made (méid) - Most things today are made in China.
Run: ran (rén) - She ran as fast as she could to catch the train.
See: saw (sóu) - I saw you once in a convention in 2007.
Take: took (túuk) - They took us to a picnic in the mountains.
Understand: understood (anderstúud) -She understood German but couldn't speak it.
Write: wrote (uróut) - He wrote this letter before we had computers.
En el Past Simple por el INTERROGATIVO y NEGATIVO usamos el verbo auxiliar
DID / DIDN'T (pasado de DO / DON'T). El verbo principal queda en el infinitivo.
Where did you go last night? (I didn't go anywere last night.)
When did she see you in Buenos Aires? (She didn't see me in Buenos Aires.)
How did you know we were here? (I didn't know, I just guessed.)
Why didn't you take her to a restaurant? ( I didn't have any money.)
Did you make this cake? (No, I didn't. My mother did.) (My mother made it)
