Today's Class - Dimentions in Time- Present Simplel or Present Continuous

Present Simple
Cows graze in the pasture (they always do, they sometimes do, every day, etc...)

Sometimes the sun shines, some days it rains.

Present Continuous
The brown cow is grazing in the pasture. (now)
Many cows are grazing in the pasture.(in the picture, at the present.)

The sun is shining. (now, in the picture)

Present Simple: What do you do? (in general) I teach English.
Present Continuous: What am I doing? (now) I am composing daleingles.blogspot.com

Present Simple: Where does she live? (usually) She lives in Buenos Aires.
Present Continuous: Where is she staying? (now) She is staying with a friend in Mendoza.

We use the Present Simple to talk about: habits, rutines, facts, truths.
We use the Present Continuous to talk about: right now, now, future arrangements.

Present Simple: He works from 9 to 5 (routine)
Rivers flow to the sea. (fact)
They go to church on Sundays (habits)

Present Continuous: It is 1:00 pm-we are having lunch (right now)
She is studying at the University. (now, this year)
What are you doing tonight? (future arrangement)
We are meeting my mother for dinner. (future arrangement)
